Although originally published in 1998, this book is as relevant today as it ever was. It debunks all the pro-circumcision arguments in use both then and now. Since publication, no new arguments have been made for circumcision, and the credibility of remaining arguments has been rejected or substantially weakened. What HAS changed since the publication of CIRCUMCISION EXPOSED is that Mr. Boyd's arguments against infant circumcision have become more universally accepted as a common-sense approach to the subject.
For the first half of the 20th century in America, infant circumcision grew in popularity among parents (though not among infants!) based largely upon cultural myths and scientifically flawed or statistically insignificant medical studies. By mid-century the national rate for infant circumcision in the U.S. was close to 75%, with some regional hospitals reporting rates in excess of 90%!
In the second half of the century, infant circumcision rates in the U.S. began to drop steadily, so much so that...
